We arrived and parked in the courtyard behind the hotel. It was a very hot day, so was pleased to see the hotel had a small pool for those in our party who wanted to swim. However even better was that we walked in to a superbly cool air conditioned room with a very good shower and bath. The breakfast provided lots of choice and was available for 6.30am which is useful when you need an early start. The location of the hotel was very good - in the centre of town close to local restaurants. We finished our evening listening to gentle live music at a nearby bar. Having known nothing about Moulins as a town, it was a very pleasant stay.

Everything was as we wanted, a very comfortable stopover en route south. We were in a building to the side which overlooked an old church and the secure parking area, another plus for us. The decor and all furnishings were of a high standard, the room was small but perfectly fine for a short stay. We tend to like the Mercure brand as the buildings tend to have character, are conveniently situated and always very clean. Nice Nuxe toiletries and a small fridge with water and kettle for drinks added to the experience. Thé breakfast in the dining room looking out to the swimming pool was excellent and good value.

Everything was fine... a good well-maintained but generously 'old-fashioned' hotel - better than some modern horror! The breakfast was superb. But the only thing which was sad is that the hotel no longer has a restaurant - and to arrive on a Sunday means that everything in the town was closed! However, the staff were happy to mark maps with catering establishments etc. The very good restaurant in the town is the opposite the station: Restaurant de la Gare.

We stay here on a regular basis whilst travelling to the south of France where we have an apartment on the way down and the way back .We love the hotel as the staff are always cheerful, the hotel is clean and comfortable, good value for money, location and facilities excellent.

Carl

The hotel is located in Moulins city centre, very close to the cathedral and at walking distance from all other monuments. It has a private parking, which is very useful if you are coming by car. The room we stayed was big and had all the necessary comforts.
